Afghan Ambassador to Canada Presents Letters of Credence
The Ambassador Designate of Afghanistan to Canada, His Excellency Barna Karimi, presented his Letters of Credence to His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada, today March 30, 2012.
At the ceremony, Ambassador Karimi conveyed to the Governor General the best wishes of His Excellency Hamid Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, and his hopes for further strengthened relationship between the two countries.
The Afghan Ambassador thanked the Canadian people and government for their generous support for improving security, development and governance in Afghanistan.
His Excellency the Governor General, who visited Afghanistan twice in the last 17 months, received these messages warmly and showed keen interest in events unfolding in Afghanistan.
At a reception following the ceremony, Afghanistan Embassy’s staffs in Ottawa was introduced by the new Ambassador to His Excellency the Governor General.
