Arg, Kabul – H.E. Hamid Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, instructed the relevant local authorities to provide emergency aid to the families affected by the earthquake in the Imam Sahib district of Kunduz province.

Kaboul, Palais Présidentiel  : Comme nos chers compatriotes ont dû l'apprendre, le district de Garmser dans la province de Helmand était devenu hors de contrôle des forces de sécurité afghanes en raison d'ingérences étrangères, et ce pendant quelques heures. Selon les informations fournies par des habitants de la région, des étrangers traversant la frontière et s’infiltrant sur le sol afghan, ont commis des pillages, détruit des bâtiments publics et injurié le Drapeau d’Afghanistan portant les mots sacrés de “Allah o Akbar”, l'ont piétiné et y ont mis le feu. Ensuite ils ont hissé à la place un drapeau étranger.

Dr. Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of the Republic of India and expressed his and the Afghan people’s deepest sympathies and condolences for the massive loss of lives due to Tuesday’s terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India.

Arg, Kabul – H.E. Hamid Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, expressed his deep regret at the death of 150 people in Russia.

According to reports, the Sibir Airbus A-310 plane was flying from Moscow when it crashed on landing at Irkutsk airport. The plane slid off the runway and hit a building at about 0800 on Sunday, killing 150 people and wounding 55.

The President, on behalf of the people of Afghanistan, expressed his sympathies and condolences to the families of the victims and to the people of Russia and prayed for the full and speedy recovery of the injured.

Arg, Kabul – H.E. Hamid Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, who is currently attending the second conference on the “Consolidation of Peace in Afghanistan” in Tokyo, strongly condemned the bombings in Kabul city.

According to reports, the enemies of Afghanistan detonated a bomb in the area of Khairkhana, killing one person and wounding four others.  

Arg, Kabul – H.E. Hamid Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, left for Japan this evening to attend the conference on The Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration (DDR) and Disbandment of Illegal Armed Groups (DIAG) programmes and to make an official visit to Tokyo after the conference.

The President is accompanied on this trip by H.E. Dr. Zalmai Rasoul, National Security Advisor, H.E. Ehssan Zia, Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, H.E. Mir Muhammad Amin Farhang, Acting Minister of Economy, H.E. Zalmai Aziz, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Ahmad Yousuf Noorestani, Deputy Minister of Defence, H.E. Dr. Enayatullah Qasimi, Advisor to the President on International Affairs, H.E. Jawed Ludin, Chief of Staff to the President.
