H.E. Hamid Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, ordered the governors and provincial security chiefs to take drastic actions against poppy cultivation in Afghanistan.
The President said, “Our country’s national interests require us to refrain from poppy cultivation. The fight against poppy cultivation is a top priority for the Government of Afghanistan and no excuse will be accepted for the continuation of poppy cultivation. Afghanistan will not become self-reliant unless we completely stop this menace with strong determination.”
In a meeting with governors and provincial security chiefs, the President instructed them to inform the land owners of the Government’s strong determination in fighting against illicit poppy cultivation. The cultivation of poppy is an illegal act which undermines the rule of law and weakens our economy. |

حامدکرزی رئیس جمهورى اسلامی افغانستان در ملاقاتيكه قبل از ظهر امروز با برخى از واليان و قوماندانان امنيه كشور داشت به آنها دستور داد تا از اين به بعد با قاطعيت از كشت كوكنار جلوگيرى نمايند. ـ
رئيس جمهور كشور گفت: براى يك افغانستان به متكى خود جز از بين بردن كوكنار و مواد مخدر راه ديگر وجود ندارد. بنآ باقاطعيت بايد از كشت كوكنار جلوگيرى صورت گرفته و با توجه به منافع علياى كشور در اين راستا هيچ نوع عذر ودليل پذيرفته نمشود. ـ
رئيس جمهور ، به واليان و قوماندانان امنيه وظيفه سپرد تا به دهاقين و زمينداران تفهيم نمايند كه از كشت كوكنار پرهيز نمايند، زيرا ،زرع واستعمال كوكنار يك عمل جرمى پنداشته ميشود و فرزندان اين وطن را به شكل تدريجى به كام مرگ فرو برده ، اقتصاد مارا ضيف و كشور مارا غربت زده و بدنام ميسازد. ـ
همچنان رئيس جمهور علاوه كرد، مبارزه با اين پديده در الويت كارى دولت قرار دارد. ـ |

H.E. Hamid Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, strongly condemned the terrorist attacks in Delhi, the capital of India, which killed over 55 people and injured many more.
According to reports, three explosions rocked India's capital Delhi killing at least 55 people and injuring many others. The blasts came within minutes, when many people were out for shopping ahead of Diwali festival and Eid celebration. In another incident, over 100 people were killed after a passenger train derailed in floods in southern India.
In his reaction to the news the President said, “These attacks are criminal act of terrorism and I condemn it in the strongest terms. I was deeply saddened by the news of train crash, which killed over 100 people in southern India.”
The President, on behalf of the people of Afghanistan, expressed his heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the families of the victims of the terrorist attacks and train crash as well as to the people of India, and prayed for the full recovery of the injured. |

The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan strongly condemns the heinous terrorist attacks that took place in New Delhi on Saturday and expresses its deepest sorrow and condolences to the people, the Government of India and the families of the victims.
H.E Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, expressed great sympathy and grief upon hearing the tragic news regarding the number of civilian casualties resulting from the terrorist attack.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan reaffirms that terrorism, in all its forms and manifestations, constitutes one of the most serious threats to international peace and security which requires sustained collaboration among members of the international community to defeat this menace. |

H.E. Hamid Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, returned to Kabul this afternoon after a short visit to Pakistan. The President, on behalf of the people of Afghanistan, expressed his heartfelt sympathies and condolences to President Musharaf, the people of Pakistan and the victims of the earthquake.
The President said, “The people of Pakistan have generously helped the people of Afghanistan during the years of Jihad and now we want to assist them in their time of need”. During this visit, the President met with H.E. Pervez Musharaf, President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, at the presidential palace and discussed the ongoing international relief operation and the role of the Afghan relief and medical teams and helicopters currently helping with the operation in areas worst affected by the quake.
President Musharaf thanked President Karzai for the assistance of the Government and the people of Afghanistan to the victims of the earthquake. President Musharaf said, “I appreciate the solidarity that the people of Afghanistan have shown with our people over the past days and it demonstrates a spirit of goodwill between our peoples.” The President also met with H.E. Shaukat Aziz, Prime Minister of Pakistan, at his office and discussed the earthquake. Prime Minister Aziz thanked President Karzai for the assistance of the Afghan relief and medical teams and said that the Afghan helicopters have proven to be effective in the search, rescue and relief operations.
At the end of the meeting, President Karzai and Prime Minister Aziz gave a joint press conference and stressed the need for strengthening friendly relations between the two countries. The President was accompanied on this visit by H.E. Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Foreign Minister, H.E. General Abdul Rahim Wardak, Defense Minister, H.E. Dr. Zalmay Rasul, National Security Advisor, H.E. Dr. Sayed Muhammad Amin Fatimi, Health Minister, H.E. Muhammad Ismail Khan, Minister of Energy and Mrs. Fatema Gillani, Head the Afghan Red Crescent Society. The President was also accompanied on this visit by a medical team from the Ministry of Health, which included 14 doctors and 16 medical staff, destined for areas worst affected by the earthquake. During this visit, the Government of Afghanistan donated an extra 5 tons of medicine and equipment to the victims of the earthquake. |

بنا بر گزارشات روز جمعه در قریه های سوری ولسوالی شینکی ولایت زابل وامروز یک شنبه به ساعت شش وسی صبح در ولسوالی ارگون ولایت پکتیکا زلزله رخ داده است. گزارشات اولیه حاکی از آن است که این زلزله ها تلفات جانی و مالی نیز در پی داشته اند. ـ
رئیس جمهوری افغانستان به تیم های یاد شده هدایت داده است وقوع زلزله وچگونگی خسارات آن را بررسی نموده مساعدت های لازم را به آسیب دیده گان احتمالی برسانند و از چگونگی اجراات و شدت حوادث گزارش دهند.ـ

H.E. Hamid Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, was saddened by the news of the earthquake in Paktika province, which killed five people.
According to reports, two quakes were registered in Paktika province early Sunday. One was a magnitude 5.2 and hit just after midnight local time. The other, a magnitude 4.9 quake, struck at dawn.
The President has ordered the relevant government authorities to send relief teams and supplies to the area and assist with the relief operations. The President expressed his heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the families of the victims. |

حامد کرزی رئیس جمهوری اسلامی افغانستان حملات تروریستی دو روز گذشته را که منجر به شهادت هژده تن از منسوبین پولیس در ولایت هلمند، پنج تن کارکن صحی در ولایت قندهارگردید، شدیدآ محکوم کرد.ـ
روز دوشنبه به اثر یک کمین تروریستان در جاده کوهستانی در ولایت هلمند هژده تن از نیرو های پولیس ملی را به شهادت رساندند و چهار تن را زخمی ساختند. همچنان تروریستان پنج تن از کارکنان صحی موسسه کمک به خدمات انکشافی افغانستان را در شهر قندهار که بجانب کمپ مهاجرین موشان برای کمک به خانواده های مهاجر در حرکت بودند، به شهادت رسانده اند. ـ

Dr. Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of India, this morning and extended his deepest sorrow and condolences to the people of India for the loss of lives and massive destruction caused by the massive earthquake that occurred Saturday, severely affecting parts of India and Pakistan.
The President said, “I pray for the full recovery of our injured brothers and sisters and for swift rebuilding of the lives of those affected.” “On behalf of the Afghan people, I want to convey through you our solidarity with the brotherly people of India on this difficult day.” The Afghan Red Crescent has donated 10 tons of dry fruits for the victims of the earthquake in India.
The cabinet has decided to lower the flag of Afghanistan all over the world to half-mast in respect for the victims of the earthquake. |

The President said, “I pray for the full recovery of our injured brothers and sisters and for swift rebuilding of the lives of those affected.” “The People of Pakistan assisted their brothers in Afghanistan immensely during the years of Jihad and today we will do our utmost to assist our Pakistani brothers. “On behalf of the Afghan people, I want to convey through you our solidarity to the brotherly people of Pakistan on this difficult day.” The President has ordered $500,000 of aid to the victims of the earthquake in Pakistan and 20 tons of dry fruits from the Afghan Red Crescent is being donated.
The cabinet has decided to lower the flag of Afghanistan all over the world to half-mast in respect for the victims of the earthquake. |

H.E. Hamid Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, is saddened by the death of hundreds of people and massive destruction caused by a 7.6 magnitude earthquake which struck eastern Afghanistan, Pakistan and India.
It was reported that the quake hit at 0850 local time, which centered in Kashmir about 60 miles northeast of Islamabad. Two Afghan children were killed in eastern Afghanistan, when the earthquake struck.
The President stated, “I pray for the full recovery of the injured and for the swift rebuilding of the lives of those affected.” The President, on behalf of the people of Afghanistan and the Government, expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. |
