Mrs. Zahra Sadeqi, First Lady of Iran, has arrived today, 1 March 2005, at 11 am in Kabul at the invitation of Dr.Zinat Karzai, First Lady of Afghanistan, on a three-day friendly trip to Afghanistan.

The First Lady of Iran was welcomed by H.E. Sediqa Balkhi, Minister of Martyrs and Disabled, H.E. Qamar Wakili Achakzai, Deputy Minister of Labours and Social Affairs.

The First Lady of Iran met with Dr.Zinat Karzai, and later on with Dr.Suraya Rahim Sobrang, Acting Minister of Women Affairs. Women’s situation and issues in Afghanistan were discussed during those meetings.

In the afternoon, the First Lady of Iran and the delegation accompanying her also visited Malalai Hospital. This evening, Dr.Zinat Karzai will host a dinner in the honour of the First Lady of Iran.
