Presidential Palace, Kabul – H.E. Hamid Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, asked the people of Iraq, today, during the Cabinet meeting, to go to the polling centres and cast their vote for the prosperity of their country and propagation of democracy in a new Iraq.

“By casting their votes, the Afghan people acquired Pride and Glory and showed to the world that Afghanistan is a prosperous nation concerned about its future”, the President said during the cabinet meeting today.

“We showed through our votes that we now own a legitimate country which walks towards development and reconstruction. Likewise, our Iraqi brothers and sisters should go to the ballot and play their role in determining their country’s destiny, thus acquiring Pride and Glory”, the President added.

“The Iraqi people must not fear terrorists. Instead, they should make their elections a success with bravery and courage, and with the experience drawn from their historic culture; they must endeavour to ensure the rule of democracy and the right to elect their leader”, the President also added.

At the end of the Cabinet meeting, H.E. Hamid Karzai and the Cabinet members of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan prayed for the success and betterment of the brotherly country of Iraq.
