Ottawa - - The Embassy of Afghanistan to Canada expresses deep sorrow upon news that an officer of the Department of Foreign Affairs lost his life in Kandahar on Sunday.
Mr. Mehrabodin Masstan, Charge d’ Affaires at the Embassy in Ottawa said “I would like to express our sincere condolences to the family, colleagues and friends of Glyn Berry. This is a very unfortunate terrorist incident perpetrated by our common enemies whose aim is to target those who are involved in the process of stabilization and reconstruction in Afghanistan.”
He added “while our enemies’ aim is to disrupt normal life and progress, the Afghans are grateful for Canada’s principled support of Afghanistan .”
Mr. Masstan also wishes speedy recovery for three Canadian soldiers injured in the blast that took Mr. Berry’s life.
