Ottawa - At the invitation of the Senate's Committee for National Security and Defence, Ambassador Omar Samad attended a working luncheon on Parliament Hill on Wednesday, December 5. Following a welcoming statement by the Committee Chairman, Hon. Senator Collin Kenny, the Ambassador briefed the Committee about developments in Afghanistan and answered their questions on various issues of interest. Committee members have visited Afghanistan twice in the past four years.
