Ambassador Samad attends two congregations of Afghans in Toronto on the eve of Ashora on Wednesday February 8, commemorating the Martyrdom of Imam Hossein (AS) and his companions in Karbala. The Ambassador spoke to more than 2,000 Afghans about the lessons from Islam's glorious past for today's humanity. He also spoke about the values of moderation and tolerance as taught by the Prophet (PBUH) while Muslims peacefully condemn insults to sacred symbols an incitement. He also spoke about the stabilizing role of international security assistance forces, including Canadian forces, and about the achievements of the London Conference to help with Afghanistan's development. The Ambassador was accompanied by Administrative Assistant Alisina Ahmadi. |
