The “Afghan House” official residence of the Ambassador was opened on May 31 by Foreign Minister Abdullah in the presence of the Afghan Ambassador and Mrs. Samad, Mr. James Fox, Director General, South and Southeast Asia Bureau at the Dept. of Foreign Affairs, Canadian officials, parliamentarians and members of the Afghan community. The residence, purchased earlier this year, is the first Afghan property in Canada since diplomatic relations were established in 1967. |
